Nature Beckons
I recently came across this incredibly beautiful short film, Searching for West, and was so captivated by the images and production quality.
The narrative is perhaps not the film’s most engaging aspect, but it is nonetheless heartfelt and authentic and provides a fine framework for some stunning shots (and a little slow-mo overdose).
I have never hunted anything in my life and doubt that I will ever get closer to my meals than I do in the supermarket, but I was still drawn to process, skill, and endurance that hunting requires. Sleeping under the stars and, to a certain degree, being one with nature seems wonderfully appealing when faced with the dishes, laundry, and paying the bills. But then again, I would probably last a few hours before I would long back to my warm bed.
